FAQs

Who is eligible to apply for funding from Brilliant Minds?

To apply for funding with Brilliant Minds, your startup should be in its earliest stages, specifically in the pre-seed/seed phase. We're not currently considering traditional, non-tech businesses for funding. This fund is dedicated to innovative tech ventures poised for growth and impact.

What does Brilliant Minds look for in a founding team?

With our focus on empowering a wider age range, we are particularly interested in startups where at least one of the founders is over 60.

Does Brilliant Minds take equity in the startups it funds?

Yes, at the pre-seed investment stage, Brilliant Minds typically provides funding in the form of a convertible note, such as a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity). This means we initially offer funding that can later convert into equity during a future financing round. The specific terms of this agreement, including conversion conditions and valuation caps, are tailored to each startup's unique circumstances.

What is the expected timeline from application to funding decision?

The process from initial application to final funding decision can vary, but we aim to complete it within 2-3 weeks.
